This week’s collection of new tracks and mini-reviews has a little something for everyone, including some names you know and others you’ll want to know. Let us know which ones you’re diggin’ most!

Queens & Kings – “I’m Beggin'”

Toronto garage punk duo Queens and Kings are back on FTS, with a brand spankin’ new video for the latest release, “I’m Beggin'”. This is only their second single, and they’re already a force to reckoned with. If you’re a fan of The Kills (as I am), or just solid rock music in general – get on board, and check out “I’m Beggin'”!

Parker Ainsworth – “The Way That It Was”

For Tom Petty vibes with some War on Drugs mixed in for good measure, Parker Ainsworth’s new single is one to check out.

Get The Fuck Outta Dodge – “We Make The Future Here”

Turn this one up really loud, or you’ll be doing the tune a disservice. A punk/noise rock single from the UK’s Get The Fuck Outta Dodge deserves high volumes and socially distanced slam dancing.

Daveband – “Last Day Of The Summer”

An appropriate song for the first 8 Tracks collection of fall (ugh, sorry folks). This is Daveband, a Canadian group, and their latest track that fuses Americana, folk, and indie rock vibes into one package saying so long to the warmer days.

The Dead Casinos – “Unfolded”

Here’s a band comprised of 17 year olds who are managing to make me feel completely useless – seriously, these guys are talented. Channeling a little Artic Monkeys, and little QOTSA, it’s really impressive. Give ’em a listen!

The Fades – “So Much Better”

UK band The Fades have a fast-paced, riff-laden jam here, for fans of indie rock, garage rock, and well… rock rock. Turn it up!

The Mammoths – “Livin In”

If you like The Black Keys, you’re gonna like this band – The Mammoths new track “Livin’ In” is some seriously great garage rock with some psychedelic infusions.

Gord Downie – “Useless Nights”

When a Gord Downie song shows up in our inbox, you know we have to share it. Nearly three years after Gord passed, it’s nice to hear unreleased music from him, his familiar vocal stylings making things feel a little more ok right now.
