Is the week of the neverending US election over yet? Stop hitting refresh on the results for a little while, and take a break with these eight new songs and mini-reviews.

Yukon Blonde – “Good Times”

We just can’t help but share tunes from Yukon Blonde, and their new stuff has such killer grooves – full of synths and drum machines, and psychedelic indie goodness.

The Only Ocean – “Wasted Days”

If you dig rock, you’ll like this. If you dig pop, you’ll like this. It’s a danceable piece of rock music, recorded, mixed, and produced by Jonathan DeBaun (The Mars Volta, Mastodon).

usLights – “This Must Be The Place”

At first listen, this has the feel of some Muse meets a lighhearted Radiohead, with a bit of Deftones’ softer songs thrown in. Not sure what that means? Give it a listen! It’s fantastic.

Ryland Moranz – “If I Had Wings”

Here’s the first single from this Canadian singer-songwriter – lots of talent here, and a sound that is reminiscent of Blue Rodeo, with a twist. Pay attention to this one, because you’re definitely going to know him soon.

Little Triggers – “Feed Me”

This energetic track from the UK’s Little Triggers will have you moving and/or shaking, with the potential for full-on living room dancing. It’s a “wail of anger at the corporate greed that lies at the root of problems such as racism, homelessness and poverty. “

Dan Lyons – “Thin Black Duke”

There’s a great nostalgic feel to this song. It’s a three-chord indie pop “ditty”, that is instantly likeable and familiar in a fantastic way.

Mattie Leon – “When It Starts to Feel Like Christmas”

If you’re ready to put all the craziness of 2020 behind you, get right into the holiday spirit with FTS pal, Mattie Leon. He’s just released this wonderful Christmas tune, and made it a family affair. It’s a total delight, and an early present for your ears!

Hawksley Workman – “Young and Wasted”

While Hawksley Workman’s single “Young and Wasted” isn’t brand new (it was released at the end of October), we’d be remiss if we didn’t make sure you’ve all heard it. So, go on – listen to it. Love it. There ya go.
