We received so many great Canadian songs this week, plus local releases, it’s tough to narrow ’em down – but we’ve done our best, and we think you’ll enjoy the 8 tracks on this week’s list. Check out these heavy hitters!

Fake Shark – “Invincible”

Vancouver’s Fake Shark bring impassioned vocals and a sense of urgency to their new single, “Invincible”. It’s catchy indie-pop that is the perfect way to set off this list. Check it out!

Mattie Leon – “Silver Line”

Always an FTS favourite, Toronto’s Mattie Leon is back with a brand new song, the beautiful “Silver Line”. Watch this lyric video, and for those of you in Niagara, be sure to come at see Mattie at Mahtay Cafe on December 8th!

The Hearts – “Give It Back”

Another great Canadian band for the list, The Hearts’ new song “Give It Back” pairs melodies and harmonies with their own unique blend of folk and Americana. Add to that a video with an adorable dog? That’s just a winning combo.

White Elephant Orchestra – “Electric Dreams of Tokyo”

White Elephant Orchestra is the new project from Toronto-born, LA-based multi-instrumentalist Andy Stochansky. “Electric Dreams of Tokyo” is an electro-pop dream, and a must-listen.

Pink Leather Jackets – “Wasting Time”

Southern Ontario alternative four-piece, Pink Leather Jackets have just released their new single, a “lo-fi acoustic voice memo and built into a gritty rock track”. “Wasting Time” is from their new EP coming out in December, and it’s one to watch for!

Jackie – “Lifetime In A Touch”

If you were a fan of The Mohrs and wondered where they went, here’s your answer – Jackie Mohr, Marc Girardin, and Max Trefler are releasing new music as Jackie, a synth-rock-pop-genreless project with energetic vibes. Here’s their new single, “Lifetime In A Touch”.

Miniscule – “Oh Da Dee”

A local FTS favourite, Laurel Minnes just released the first album from her amazing project, Miniscule. Here’s the lead track, “Oh Da Dee” – but if you’re listening to this one, do yourself a favourite and keep listening to every song on Great. You won’t be disappointed.

Little Nerves – “Warden”

One of our other local favourites (because damn, Niagara has talent), Little Nerves is back with another release! You may recognize this song from one of our first “Live From The Strait” videos, featuring Oscar (aka DRFTR) or Little Nerves performing an acoustic early version of this track for us.
